Tusk’ave · Special Projects

Own the barrel. Build the brand.

Special Projects is the side of Tusk’ave that works with brands, companies and private clients. Casks laid down in your name, private labels, new brands, single-barrel editions made from scratch and blanco produced to your specification. All of it made at our partner distillery in Los Altos de Jalisco, NOM 1634.

Special Projects

Brand and supply projects

For brands, companies, founders and private clients who want tequila made, aged or bottled for them: private labels, new brands, blanco supply, and casks held at origin for a planned release.

The single-barrel reserve

Finished casks, ready to bottle

For venues, retailers and collectors who want a cask that is already aged. That is the heart of the main Tusk’ave site: every cask in the reserve, with its oak, toast, age and proof.

01 · Casks owned at origin

Casks held in your name, aged with a purpose.

Aged tequila is a physical, regulated product: agave that took years to grow, distilled, and then changed by every month it spends in oak. The aged tequila a brand will pour in three years has to go into barrels today.

Some clients choose to own that tequila from the start, so the aged liquid their future brand, private label or company release needs is there, at the age they want. It is a purchase of tequila for a planned use, held and looked after at origin until it is bottled.

The life of a cask

  1. 01 · Fill A new fill, chosen with you Agave, still, oak, toast and entry proof are agreed before the cask is filled.
  2. 02 · Hold Aged at origin Aged at our partner distillery in Los Altos de Jalisco, NOM 1634, under the rules of the Consejo Regulador del Tequila.
  3. 03 · Record Documented as it ages Fill date, cask number and regulatory records, with samples and photographs along the way.
  4. 04 · Bottle Bottled for its planned use When it reaches the age you chose, it is bottled in Jalisco for the use agreed at the start.

Where a cask can go

Tequila 100% de agave has to be bottled at the producer’s authorised plant (NOM-006-SCFI-2012). So every path ends in bottles filled in Jalisco, never in bulk tequila shipped elsewhere.

  • Bottled and released under the Tusk’ave name
  • Launched as your own tequila brand
  • Bottled as a private label for your company
  • Released as a numbered single-barrel edition

The market

Tequila is global. The demand is concentrated.

Tequila can only be made in Mexico, and 84% of the tequila Mexico exported in 2024 went to the United States. Spin the globe, or pick a market, to see where it goes.

Sources: Consejo Regulador del Tequila (2024 exports, appellation of origin) and the Distilled Spirits Council of the United States (2024 US revenue). Market descriptions are general and for context only.

How it runs

From the agave field to a bottle with your name on it.

Every Special Project runs on the same four stages. What changes is what happens at the end.

  1. 01

    Source

Blue Weber agave from Los Altos de Jalisco, cooked, fermented and distilled at our partner distillery, NOM 1634.

  2. 02

    Custody

Casks aged under the rules of the Consejo Regulador del Tequila, each one numbered and recorded.

  3. 03

    Age

Time in oak moves the tequila through the official categories and changes what it can become.

  4. 04

    Release

Bottled at origin as your brand, a private label or a single-barrel edition, then shipped through licensed importers.

The aging journey

Watch the tequila change with time.

Tap a stage. Each official category is a threshold the tequila crosses in oak, and each one suits a different kind of project.

How time changes one cask.

Move the slider to see how a single 200 litre cask changes over ten years: which category it reaches, how much tequila the angels take, roughly how many bottles it could fill, and a hypothetical reference value for the tequila at that age.

04 · Single-barrel editions, from scratch

A single barrel, made for you from the first day.

Our reserve sells casks that are already aged. This works the other way round: you commission a cask before it is filled. Choose the oak, the toast, the entry proof and how long it rests. We fill it, look after it, send you samples along the way, and bottle it as a numbered edition carrying your name when it is ready.
